Hi, I’m Willy Paul. I’m a photographer and retired architect based in Lake Oswego, Oregon where I live with my wife and our dog. Thank you for visiting my website.
I love taking photographs. It excites me to make a photo that captures a feeling, a moment, a scene, and make the best possible image that I can to express the emotion of the moment. Photographing people and places in beautiful light is what I love to capture most. When all three of these elements come together at the same time, it’s magic!
I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was a small boy. I learned to take photographs with my father’s Leica M2 while using a hand held light meter to understand light and camera settings. Later in life I attended architecture school, and my camera became the tool through which I began to see the world through a different lens. Photography helped me understand composition, scale, proportion, line, texture, grey values, and color tones which are the basic elements of any art form.
I’ve come to enjoy photography of all genres; portraiture, performances, fairs, nature, street and urban scenes. It’s a means of communication and an expression of emotion. I aspire to capture special moments as they unfold in front of me.
Today, photography provides me with some terrific opportunities to visit beautiful places, and to meet some wonderful and interesting people. Please fell free to reach out to me on my Contact page. I’m interested in learning how my experiences in photography can help you reach your goals and aspirations!
I look forward to meeting you.
Thank you!
